culture workshop

f*ck research - lets talk practice

For this informal and relaxed exchange among researchers and associate researchers at GradCAM, we want to talk about practice as practice NOT practice as research, on the afternoon of Friday 26th November.

culture workshop 1

This is an opportunity for people active in GradCAM to show and swap ideas about cultural practice as cultural practice! (i.e. we park the question of research and education for a moment and we just enjoy each other’s cultural production and practice with reference to diverse modes of consumption, valuation and interpretation).

audience

The target audience for this event is the research and practice community attached to GradCAM. The hope is that new opportunities to develop practical work will arise from the conversations and the feedback. We are a;lso seeking to identify new platforms for developing exchange within the broader community of practice.

format

Presenters are asked to restrict themselves to 12 minutes maximum! There will be a time-check at 10 minutes and an absolute cut-off at 12 minutes. No exceptions will be made for technical failures or any other problems. The emphasis is on efficient presentation of work not on lots of talk – more “show” than “tell”.
