Dr. Connell Vaughan
Lecturer at the Dublin School of Creative Arts
Dr. Connell Vaughan is a Philosopher and a Lecturer in Aesthetics and Critical Theory in the Dublin School of Creative Arts (DIT). He is an associate researcher with the Graduate School of Creative Arts and Media (GradCAM), a committee member of the European Society for Aesthetics and member of The Aesthetics Research Group. He received a PhD in aesthetics from UCD School of Philosophy in 2010.

His research focuses on how challenges to aesthetic, educational and political institutional norms and narratives gain recognition over time. His publications include work on the avant-garde, public art, curationvandalism, graffitithe canon, national identity, the philosophy of John Moriartysoccer aesthetics, aesthetic engagement and the relationship between contemporary aesthetic theory, art practice and policy and other topics.
