The Graduate School of Creative Arts and Media is funded through the Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions and as such administers its PhD studentships in line with established national research council guidelines and best practice.

In the case of intending applicants already pursuing postgraduate research degrees at one of the partner institutions, who wish to apply for a PhD studentship at the Graduate School, they will be deemed eligible to apply where: (i) they have commenced the research project in the last academic year; (ii) they have the written support of their supervisor(s); and (iii) they have completed and submitted to their institution, a transfer report in order to transfer from the masters register to the PhD register prior to the application deadline. In such cases the applicant must include a statement of support from the supervisor and a copy of their transfer report as part of their application.
